We are a
group of people that are concerned about the health and welfare of our
pet/companion and wild birds. There are devoted people within our
community that have given their time to care for sick, injured,
displaced or unwanted birds. These non-profit people and organizations
need our help.
Mission Statement
Our mission
is to improve the lives of all of the birds in our community through
three main ways.
-
To form a volunteer
“safety net” to assist existing rescues, hospitals, and sanctuaries
with fund-raising, staffing, and urgent and emergent needs.
-
To improve
communication between the non-profit avian agencies, clubs and the
community through an educational and informative website and quarterly
avian community newsletter.
-
To teach the
community both youth and adults about our gift of the birds and how to
improve their lives. How important wild birds are and how to care for
them throughout the year. Know what to do if a bird is injured or a
chick is found. To teach people about the responsibility we own to
care for the birds we have tried to tame. How to better physically and
mentally care for our companion birds through educational programs and
readings.
We wish to
work with all the bird interests as a community, a “flock” to best serve
our precious winged friends.
